We often need X-rays or radiographs (radiographs are the result of the x-rays exposing the photographic film) to help diagnose a variety of problems.
We can look at bone structure and internal organs and on occasions we may be able to see foreign bodies such as stones in the intestine.
The procedure is quick and painless, however most pets will need sedation or anaesthesia in order to obtain the best possible pictures.
The photographic film is then taken to the dark room or the plates are processed digitally to create a high definition image, which can be viewed on a computer, printed out or e-mailed should another specialist opinion be required.
