At the Market Rasen practice we have a dedicated radiography room for our small animal patients. Using radiographs we are able to look at bone structure and internal organs; we may also be able to see foreign bodies such as stones in the intestine.
Although X-rays are non invasive, most pets will require sedation or general anaesthesia to acquire the best possible images. Sometimes more than one view is necessary in order to arrive at a diagnosis and several x-rays may have to be taken. The X rays are developed immediately and can be viewed and interpreted on the day of the procedure. As soon as we receive the specialist report, we will inform you of the results and any further action required.
